Well done mate. It was a tough course with plenty of hills so you’ve done well to hit the two hour mark. I thought the event was a huge success, the crowds and live music were wonderful. Next year it will be part of the World Half marathon championships and I suspect will be a much bigger event – can’t wait.

Thanks Emily – although I imagine that having two babies is far beyond running a few miles! But as far as I know the Birmingham Half Marathon is on again for next year… Hope all is well, must catch up soon.

Well done! I really admire you.

A marathon has always been on my list of things to achieve too, although (nearly!) two babies later I’m not quite so sure. Perhaps next year I’ll get running again and set a half-marathon as my target!

I have a copy of Mandela’s book ready to read, but I want to know what drives him, what is his greatest personal achievement.

The exclusion of women was not deliberate, although actually number 5 could be a woman, in order for man to be here, someone must haven given birth to him!

But to answer your question, the woman I would most like to meet would be Ellen McCarthur, to keep with the sporting tradition of those people who continually go the extra mile… life without challenge is boring.

i think he would ask you to read his book – it must be quite difficult to tell the same stories over and over!
